Because there’s often a lot to discuss, it’s a good idea to arrive well prepared to your appointment. Here’s some information to help you get ready for your appointment and know what to expect from your doctor.
What You Can Do
Write down any symptoms you are experiencing, make a list of all medications, vitamins, or supplements you are taking with the dosage information, and write down a list of questions to ask your doctor.
Common Questions to ask your Doctor
What’s the most likely cause of my symptoms?, What treatments are available, and which do you recommend?, What types of side effects can I expect from treatment?,What can I do on my own that might help me get better?
Your Doctor May Ask You
When did you first begin experiencing symptoms?, How severe are your symptoms?, Do your symptoms get worse when you exercise?, Are your symptoms continuous or occasional?, Do you use tobacco products? If yes, how often?
Be prepared to answer some of these questions to ensure that you have enough time in your appointment to go over any outstanding questions and treatment information
